Richtlinien für Autor/innen

 

We accept the following types of works:

  • Articles
  • Case Studies.
  • Essays that offer innovative approaches or subjects and critically review the methods of classical scholarship or reflect on sociocultural, political and epistemological developments associated with classical studies.
  • Reviews of scholarly books and works of fiction, also of performing arts, movies, exhibitions, digital contents and all kinds of popcultural products dealing with the Greco-Roman antiquity.
  • Werkstattberichte on current projects.
  • Interviews with prominent scholars, artists and agents in the culture industry.
  • Literature & Arts.

The basic principles for articles & case studies:

  • We accept papers in German, English, Italian, French and Spanish.
  • Please use the MS-Word template provided by thersites
  • Your paper should not be longer than 90.000 characters (including spaces, footnotes and bibliography).
  • It must include an English abstract of 200 words or fewer and at least five distinctive keywords.
  • Please give a translation for all Latin and Greek quotations or refer to existing translations.
  • Please note the editions of all texts you are using.
  • A bibliography with all references must be attached at the end of the paper.
 

The guidelines for citations in the text or in the footnotes:

  • To cite Greek and Latin passages use the DNP-abbreviations:
    Verg. Aen. 12,124–128
    Plat. rep. 3,391b–d; 4,424c
  • To cite secondary literature use the following abbreviations:
    Müller (2010) 28–35; Schmidt/Winter (2008) 14; Schneider (1974) 28 Anm. 1

Monograph:

Als Teil des Einreichungsverfahren werden die Autor/innen gebeten, anhand der Checkliste für Beiträge die Übereinstimmung ihres Beitrags Punkt für Punkt mit den angegebenen Vorgaben abzugleichen. Beiträge können an Autor/innen, die die Richtlinien nicht befolgen, zurückgegeben werden.

  1. The paper is still unpublished and will not be submitted to another journal.
  2. The paper is uploaded as word-, rtf- or wordperfect-document.
  3. The paper adheres to the style sheet provided in the thersites MS-Word template.
  4. The paper follows the submission guidelines of thersites.
